Wednesday, August 13, 6 – 9 PM, Drawing with Denny O'Meara (4 wk class begins)In this intro-intermediate class you will have fun exploring basic concepts and guidelines for creating artistic line-based expressions using a pencil.  Learn to use contour line variations, tones and textures to make your own unique art forms.  Use shading and perspective techniques to give your art work depth and realism.  Subjects will include still life, landscapes and the human form.  Four week class, beginning on August 13.
$60 for 4-wk class.
Wednesday, August 14, 1-3, ADVANCED ZENTANGLE®   Jane Reiter
Develop your meditative practice further by tangling with white pen on black paper.  We will use white pen on black paper and experiment a bit with color using color pencils.  Prerequisite:  Introduction to Zentangle class with a CZT. Bring your Sakura 05 black pen, stump and pencil to class.  Class fee $35.

Work on your writing style as Joanne Huffman guides the group in exercises to bring out the writer in you.   

Rewrite a poem or known verse and turn it into something new, in your own words.  This supportive class will feature different ways to develop journal writing and could include joys, fears, hopes, goals, advice from mom, advice to yourself or from the kids. $25

Supply list: a piece of art or journal spread that you want to add
words to; writing implement, writing paper; and [optional] thesaurus

What better time to make prayer flags than the spring – the season of hope, renewal and change!


Rooted in Buddhist tradition, modern prayer flags have become a means of creative expression – small works of fabric art containing wishes of peace, healing or whatever sentiment is close to the heart.

Join Shirley Bentsen for a day of spirited fun, complete with the freedom to play with a variety of art/craft supplies and techniques! 

Prayer flag samples will be available for inspiration!  Techniques used could be stamping, stenciling, painting, beading, sewing (hand or machine), appliqué.


This class is for creative adults into mixed media, altered art and good times! No sewing experience necessary.

 A Mixed Media Metal Melange!  Come play for the day with two Mixed Media Besties, as they both share their ideas and excitement! 
 Kari and Jen will work together in madness and mayhem to help you unleash your own wild winged thing!  We will delve into metal shaping, molding, etching, painting, patina-ing and glazing.
Be they bats or butterflies, birds, angels or fairies this continentally mixed team of instructors will guide you through this magical mystery tour to create your hearts fancy.  Tons of tips, and a gazillion giggles promise to be a lively finish to a fun and art filled weekend!

Thursday, January 23 from 6-8 Get to Know Your Sewing Machine with Carol Schon  
Carol explains the mystery of the sewing machine!  Questions such as, "Why does my sewing machine have all these feet?"  and "How do I thread this bobbin?" and "Is this supposed to do that?!"

Bring your sewing machine, attachments, manual (if you have it) and any other "mystery parts" and Carol will explain, teach, sample and give confidence to the newbies among us!

Get creative with an old lampshade!  This class will show you how to transform an old shade into a conversation piece with vintage lace, crochet, and burlap.  A lampshade will be provided or you can bring your own.  You will have access to a pile of old lace and other vintage goodies to dress up your shade.  Class and materials fee $35.  Supply list: Glue gun and glue sticks

Class 1: Fabric flowers are all the rage on Pinterest and other places on the web. Learn to make three varieties with versatile felt flowers in plenty of time for holiday gift making, both sew and no-sew versions! These flowers make wonderful brooches, headbands, and embellishments for hats and tote bags. Taught by Mitzi Curi. 

Class 2: "Zombies" are hot right now, and you can learn to make some fun and whimsical felt versions in this class! Your finished zombies can be used as ornaments or embellishments for a variety of projects. Taught by Lisa Longlois.

Introduction to Zentangle with Jane Reiter

Anyone who thinks they can’t draw or believes they aren’t creative should sign up for Jane’s Introduction to Zentangle.  Students will be amazed at what is created when learning to draw the Zentangle® way. 
Zentangle is simply drawing structured patterns with pen and paper.  A Zentangle drawing is not intended to be a realistic or descriptive picture. 
Learn to make deliberate strokes to form fun and delightful patterns. 
Participants will also develop a personal tangle, discovering a well of innate creativity with this meditative practice that is fun, portable, satisfying and devoid of technology. 
Benefits include increasing creativity, relieving stress, and there are no rules or mistakes. 

Unlock Your Passion with Sheryl Stephens

No experience necessary for this fun class to learn beadweaving or Peyote stitch and make a cool necklace!

Using beads, needle and thread you’ll learn to create peyote stitch beads that will hug a vintage key base, and a pretty ribbon.

Go retro and learn the FUNdamentals of crocheting granny squares!  
Students should feel comfortable doing chain and double crochet stitches. 
This session will also allow you to see how different shapes (other than squares) are created.
